JOHN’S, NEWFOUNDLAND – DECEMBER 9, 2011 – Marport Deep Sea Technologies Inc., a leading developer of advanced sonar technology, announced today that it has appointed Mr. Cyril McKelvie as President & Chief Executive Officer and Ms. Susan Robbins Parsons to the position of Chief Financial Officer.

Mr. McKelvie will succeed Karl Kenny, Marport’s co-founder, who will assume the position of Chief Strategy Officer and continue to serve on the Company’s Board of Directors.  Ms. Robbins Parsons will succeed Bernie Beckett, who will retire at the end of 2011.

Cyril McKelvie is a well seasoned executive and brings over 25 years of senior management experience in advanced engineering, R&D and operations. He joins Marport from his most recent position as Executive Vice President of Sanmina-SCI Corporation; a leading electronics contract manufacturer serving the international EMS market. Prior to Sanmina-SCI, Cyril was co-founder and President of Breconridge, one of Canada’s largest contract manufacturers.  He holds a B.Sc degree in Chemical Engineering from Dal-Tech, Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Susan Robbins Parsons has over 20 years experience in senior finance. She joins Marport from her most recent position as V.P. Finance for COM DEV Canada, a leading provider of space hardware and services. Before that she was CFO for International Datacasting Corporation, a global leader in digital content distribution. Susan holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Western Ontario and an MBA from Dalhousie University.
