St. John’s, Newfoundland – December 2, 2008 – Marport, a leading subsea acoustics technology company, today announced that the Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters in partnership with National Research Council Canada named Marport as an Atlantic / Nunavut Region Finalist for the 2008 Innovation Award for Innovative Excellence in New Technology.
The 2008 Regional Award for New Technology recognizes innovative excellence in the development and application of new technologies. Marport was named as a result of its Software Defined Sonar technology.
In 2000 the Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters, launched the Canadian Innovation Awards. This Awards program was designed to recognize and promote best practices as a means to encourage innovation and improve the competitiveness of Canadian businesses in the manufacturing and exporting industry.
