St. John’s, Newfoundland – July 31, 2008 – Marport, a leading subsea acoustics technology company, announced today that it will exhibit its new Software Defined Sonar products during Nor-Fishing 2008, to be held in Trondheim, Norway from August 12 - 15. The new products include:
CARUSO SF7 - a high performance, multi-function hull-mount sounder designed for commercial fishing, fisheries science and oceanographic research.
TRUE TRAWL - a wireless monitoring system designed to improve trawl geometry in pelagic and bottom trawling operations.
MFX DOOR SENSORS - MFX (Multi-Function Extended Battery) wireless trawl door sensors that can simultaneously measure door distance, pitch angle, roll angle, water temperature and trawl door depth.
CHIRP ES - a broadband echo sounder that utilizes advanced frequency modulation (CHIRP FM) to significantly improve range resolution and target discrimination compared to conventional sounders.
COMMANDVIEW 3D – Marport’s latest generation sensor visualization software is completely userconfigurable. Users can easily design and switch from screen to screen to monitor sensor data. Digital displays, analog gauges, 3D graphic displays, bar graphs, etc. can be configured to meet operator’s needs.
