MARPORT OPENS NEW FACILITY IN ALESUND, NORWAY

Marport is excited to announce the opening of Marport Norge AS located in Breivika in Alesund, Norway. The company will distribute Marport’s full product line of catch control and net monitoring sensors, echo sounders, current profilers and sonar for the world’s fishing fleet.

General Manager Gunnar Grimsson who joined the company in February 2017 will head Marport Norway AS. Grimsson has more than 15 years of experience in the fisheries segment, including his most recent position as sales manager at Furuno Norway AS, Alesund since 2010.

“As the fisheries industry globalizes, this has become an increasingly important market for Marport products,” said Grimsson. He added, “Our new location in Breivika offers excellent shipping logistics by land, sea, or air and the ability to easily visit customers in Alesund and surrounding areas. I am excited about Marport’s future in this key region of the world.”

With over 300m2 of space, the new facility will house a full inventory of Marport products ensuring a generous product offering and availability along with convenient, same day shipping. Marport Norway AS will accommodate the expansion of the Marport product line and provide ample room for in-house training and product demonstrations.
